There is currently no accurate, up-to-date national directory of tribal libraries. This makes it difficult to understand the full landscape, identify gaps, and advocate effectively for resources and support.
The Tribal Library Council (TLC) is developing a verified, tribe-based directory of tribal, tribal college, and tribal school libraries to address this need.
When complete, this effort will provide:
- A comprehensive national dataset
- Visibility into which tribes have libraries, which do not, and where support is needed
As part of this effort we are updating the listings for tribal libraries we currently have on record.
