The Association of Tribal Archives, Libraries, and Museums extends our support to the people of Spokane and the surrounding Tribal communities impacted by the recent wildfires. Our thoughts are with the individuals, families, Tribal communities, and organizations affected, and we are grateful to the firefighters, first responders, volunteers, and others working to support the region.
ATALM has been working closely with Visit Spokane, the Spokane Convention Center, local businesses, and Tribal partners in preparation for the 2026 International Conference of Indigenous Archives, Libraries, and Museums, which will be held in Spokane September 21–24. We are deeply appreciative of the many people and organizations who have welcomed ATALM and helped prepare for the conference.
As we continue to monitor conditions and prepare for ATALM2026, we remain committed to our partnership with the Spokane community and surrounding Tribal communities. We look forward to gathering in Spokane and supporting the local communities and businesses that have welcomed us, while keeping the safety and well-being of our attendees, partners, and the community at the forefront.
