Building a Sustainable Future for Pacific Islander Cultural Institutions
The Pacific Islands Cultural Alliance (PICA) Strategic Planning Process is a three-year initiative (2026–2028) to strengthen support systems for Native Hawaiian and U.S.-affiliated Pacific Islander cultural institutions.
Through a combination of virtual listening sessions and an in-person Planning Summit, this effort brings together PICA delegates, cultural leaders, organizations, and partners to shape a shared vision and develop a long-term, community-informed strategy.
WHAT THIS PROCESS WILL ACHIEVE
Over three years, PICA will:
- Engage Pacific Islander communities through listening sessions and convenings
- Build a network of cultural leaders, practitioners, and organizations
- Partner with existing Pacific Islander support organizations and cultural entities
- Develop a sustainable plan for long-term institutional support
- Advance culturally grounded approaches to stewardship and capacity building
