Build Community Partnerships

Partners are organizations or individuals who are working with you to achieve your project goals and may provide financial or in-kind support, or other essential resources.

During the NACC Pilot Project, the Pamunkey Tribe of Virginia invested Signature Project funds towards broadening their outreach to other Virginia tribes, developing in-person workshops, classes, and organizing the Kenaanee (Pamunkey word for “friendship”) Artisan Markets with local partners such as the Hardywood Park Craft Brewery and The Great Big Greenhouse in Richmond, Virginia. The success of their outreach and events led the Pamunkey team to expand their efforts to establish a state-wide arts agency, the Virginia Native Arts Alliance (VNAA).

  • Collaborate with existing arts organizations:  Partner with museums, art centers, and schools to share resources and expand programming.
  • Engage with local businesses:  Work with businesses to sponsor events, provide discounts for artists, and promote the arts council.
  • Connect with national and regional organizations:  Join networks and alliances dedicated to supporting Native arts and culture.
  • Seek partnerships with government agencies:  Explore collaborations with cultural preservation offices and arts councils at state and federal levels.
