From September 23-26, 2011, ATALM partnered with the Western Museums Association on the “Working Together to Move Forward” International Conference held in Honolulu, Hawaii. Additional sponsorship was provided by the Hawaii Museums Association and the Pacific Islands Museums Association.

Intergovernmental Preparedness for Essential Records. – In 2010, ATALM partnered with the Council of State Archivists Council of State Archivists, Homeland Security, and FEMA to provide tribal nations with eight weeks of training on essential records and emergency preparedness.
In 2009, ATALM launched the Tribal Heritage Research Fellowship project, which included a week-long research field trip to Washington, DC, an Introduction and Overview of Washington, DC Collecting Institutions workshop, followed by a workshop on producing digital documentaries.

2012 Sustaining Indigenous Cultures Report — From 2010 through 2011, ATALM documented the institutional structure, programs, and needs of the nation’s indigenous cultural organizations and worked with the Harvard Project on American Indian Economic Development and the Native Nations Institute at the University of Arizona to produce a landmark study on the status and needs of American Indian, Native Hawaiian, and Native Alaskan cultural organizations.
