Pacific Islands Cultural Alliance

The Pacific Islands Cultural Alliance (PICA) is a three-year initiative of the Association of Tribal Archives, Libraries, and Museums (ATALM). From 2026 through 2028, PICA will support delegates from U.S.-affiliated Pacific Islander communities to participate in ATALM’s national conferences, creating opportunities for professional development, peer exchange, and relationship building.

PICA also will lead a strategic planning process that engages Pacific Islander cultural leaders, organizations, and partners through virtual listening sessions and an in-person Planning Summit. Together, this work will result in a sustainable, community-informed plan to strengthen support systems for Pacific Islander cultural institutions.

PICA is supported through collaboration with Pacific Islander organizations and cultural leaders. Financial support is provided by the Institute of Museum and Library Services (IMLS).
