Purpose of the NPC
Drawing on the expertise and lived experience of its members, the Council helps identify priority issues, frame the conference theme, guide programming, and ensure that the conference reflects Indigenous values, sovereignty, and community realities. Working primarily through committees, the Council supports ATALM staff by developing recommendations and advancing work between meetings, strengthening the conference’s relevance, impact, and connection to the field.
