Purpose
The Governance & Organizational Development Committee strengthens the structural foundation of the Tribal Library Council (TLC). Its work ensures TLC operates with clarity, accountability, and long-term sustainability within ATALM.
What This Committee Does
- Drafts and refines governance documents
- Clarifies how decisions are made and who has authority
- Designs leadership and membership pathways
- Establishes annual planning and review processes
- Ensures TLC’s structure supports growth and sustainability

- Develop and adopt formal TLC Operating Guidelines
- Define TLC membership structure and participation expectations
- Establish clear governance and decision-making processes
- Clarify committee scope, authority, and leadership roles
- Work with the ATALM Conference Committee to present an Annual Meeting at ATALM2026

How It Works
The committee meets regularly on the third Thursday of each month at 2 p.m. EST during general meetings of the Tribal Library Council. Committee Chairs may call meetings as needed. Progress is tracked through 30-day action plans and reported to membership during monthly TLC meetings.
