Serving as an Ambassador is a meaningful way to give back, build professional networks, and make lasting connections with cultural leaders, knowledge keepers, and peers from around the world.
ATALM conferences are possible because of the incredible people who step up year after year to serve. This year, we are elevating the role of our volunteers because you are so much more than simply lending a hand. You are the faces of ATALM, welcoming attendees, answering questions, and ensuring everyone feels at home.

Roles & Sign Up
Ambassadors choose their own assignments through SignUpGenius. Each area has its own dedicated form:
- Onsite Volunteer: Support conference operations by staffing registration, greeting shuttle riders, assisting in the exhibit hall, and helping at evening and cultural events.
- Pre and Post Conference Volunteer Opportunities: Assist ATALM staff in conference prep, exhibit hall set-up, and conference clean-up.
- Room Host: Welcome attendees into breakout sessions, assist presenters, and help keep the room running smoothly. Select sessions you already plan to attend.
- Table Ambassador: Serve at clearly marked Ambassador Hospitality Tables during meals. Greet attendees, answer questions, and create a welcoming space for conversation and networking.
Resources
- Conference Reference Guide: Provided essential information for ATALM2026.
- Guidebook: Provides essential information, job descriptions, and other key information that will help you get the most out of your service to ATALM.

Recognition
Ambassadors are publicly thanked throughout the conference, featured on Whova’s Photo Wall, and celebrated in post-event communications. Your service makes a lasting impact — and ensures the spirit of ATALM thrives. You also will have a name badge ribbon that clearly identifies your role.
