Harrah’s Cherokee Convention Center (morning sessions on October 8-9)

Running concurrently with the 2025 International Conference of Indigenous Archives, Libraries, and Museums, the Institute is designed to provide a dynamic learning experience, blending the best of ATALM’s conference sessions with hands-on labs. 

The Institute takes place in two locations within Harrah’s Cherokee Casino.  There is a 10-15 minute indoor walk from the primary convention space. 

  • Submit Registration. Registration is expected to reach capacity quickly. If we cannot accommodate your registration, you will receive a full refund or you may apply it to an ATALM2025 conference registration.  Register here.
  • Request financial support.  ATALM is offering registration and lodging scholarships for individuals who demonstrate financial need and a commitment to the long-term care of Indigenous collections. Applications are due April 10. Submit an application here.

Institute Schedule

Day 1: Tuesday, October 7th

  • 9:00 a.m-12:00 noon – Workshop/Labs
  • 12:00 noon-1:15 p.m. – Lunch
  • 1:30 p.m.-4:30 p.m. – Workshop/Labs

Day 2: Wednesday, October 8th

  • 8:00 a.m. – 10:30 a.m. – Exhibit Hall open
  • 9:00 a.m.-10:30 a.m. – ATALM Opening Ceremony/Breakfast
  • 11:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m. – ATALM2025 sessions
  • 12:00 noon-1:30 p.m. – Lunch with ATALM 
  • 2:00 p.m.-5:00 p.m. – Institute Workshop/Labs

Day 3: Thursday, October 9th

  • 7:00 a.m. – 8:00 a.m. – Exhibit Hall open
  • 8:00 a.m.- 9:00 a.m.  – Breakfast 
  • 9:15 a.m.-10:15 a.m. – ATALM sessions 
  • 11:00 a.m.-12:00 noon – ATALM sessions 
  • 12:00 noon-1:30 p.m. – Lunch with ATALM 
  • 1:45 p.m.-4:45 p.m. – Institute Workshop/Labs
  • 5:00 p.m.-Closing ceremony/Raffle prize drawing
