The Advocacy & Visibility Committee elevates tribal libraries within tribal leadership, local communities, and national systems through clear messaging and practical advocacy tools.

  • Develop a national messaging framework 
  • Create advocacy toolkits for tribal councils and administrators 
  • Produce briefing materials outlining funding realities and impact 
  • Launch a coordinated visibility initiative 
  • Equip libraries with outreach and storytelling templates 
  • Strengthen engagement with state and federal partners

How It Works 

The committee meets regularly on the third Thursday of each month at 2 p.m. EST during general meetings of the Tribal Library Council. Committee Chairs may call meetings as needed. Progress is tracked through 30-day action plans and reported to membership during monthly TLC meetings.
